Embracing the Cyber War Fighter

From within the Pentagon to individual services, the Department of Defense has established a structure for cyber training –for defining the ‘cyber warrior’ capable of protecting the military’s most sensitive networks and assets and respond when adversaries attempt access.
Still evolving, however, is the role of the cyber workforce within mission operations, and establishing a structure for seamless integration:

  • How the skills will be effectively distributed
  • How the capabilities will merge with operation planning and formation
  • How cyber tactics and defenses will influence the approach to mission for the broader force.

Fifth Domain will explore the current approach and future vision for training people to operate in the cyber domain and to utilize the tools available to support cyber offense and defense missions; incorporating cyber skills and processes into service operations; and evolving force structure and responsibilities as the military progresses toward a more integrated force.
